It’s important to note that you need to update the firmware through iTunes rather than from Software Update. If you use Software Update, you will have to make a backup and then restore to iOS 8.1 through iTunes.
Download to the latest version of Pangu for mac or pangu for windows depending on your system. If the download is a zip file, extract the archive in a folder.
Open “Settings” from your Springboard then select Number and enter the access code.
Disable Code if it is enabled.
Choose “iCloud” menu from “Settings”, then select “Find My iPad”. Make sure that it is in switch off mode.
Turn on “Airplane mode” by clicking on the switch to Airplane Mode.
Connect your iPad to the computer using a USB cable, launch iTunes and perform a manual backup. It crucial to back up the device before continuing, because you could lose all your data if the jailbreak process does not complete successfully.
Double-click the executable Pangu file on your desktop to launch the application. You will notice that the device is detected by the software. Now click the “Start Jailbreak” button to start the jailbreak.
Now you are prompted to confirm that you have backed up the device and it is in Airplane mode, after that, click “I already did” to continue.
The application Pangu now begins the jailbreak process.
Once the jailbreak is completed successfully, your iPad will reboot, and applications Pangu and Cydia appear on your Springboard. Congratulations, now your iPad is jailbroken.
