Apple iPhone X ranks among the best phones on the market. The iPhone X includes some daring changes that set it apart from its competitors out there, like Face ID, all-glass design, TrueDepth Camera, and intuitive gestures.
While those features are great additions to iOS, they may take some time to get used to. With that in mind, we are here to help. In the section below, we have compiled a list of the 5 things we love about Apple’s 10th anniversary iPhone.
Before we begin, make sure that you now have a modern version of iOS installed on your device. To update your device, head to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.
Lock screen notifications
Face ID adds an extra layer of security to your notifications and messages. With the iPhone X, you now can get lock screen notifications for you only with a simple glance. All you need to do is to look at your lock screen. After that, you should see a list of new notifications for your apps.
Once Face ID recognizes you, you should see the content of your notifications. This comes in handy for those who want to add a little bit of privacy to their alerts. Apple is the first smartphone brand to add this technology to its phones. Big names like Samsung and Sony have been working on the same technology that will make its debut sometime this year.
Log into websites with Face ID
Face ID is one of the highlights of iPhone X. Basically, Face ID is Apple’s new security measure that replaces the Touch ID, allowing users to unlock their iPhone with a simple glance. The new security system is Apple’s answer to the iris scanning technology of the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus and Note 8.
Apple’s Face ID is smarter as it cannot be tricked by photos like Samsung’s facial technology system. With Face ID, you now can quickly log into websites in Safari without having to type your password over and over again. Besides, you can use Face ID to authenticate App Store and iTunes purchases.
Portrait selfies on iPhone X
Portrait mode was widely welcome by users and tech experts worldwide when it officially hit the iPhone 7s Plus last year. With the iPhone X, the front-facing camera has portrait mode too, allowing users to take stunning selfies. Apple also offers multiple Portrait Lighting modes to spice up your selfies. To take portrait selfie on your iPhone X, you can follow our steps below.
Step one: First off, launch the Camera app on your iPhone and then swipe right until you find Portrait
Step two: Hit the camera sway button to switch to the front-facing camera and then select Portrait Lighting effect
Step three: Once you are done, hit the shutter button to complete the task.
Tap to wake
Tap-to-wake feature is among the biggest additions to iOS. In reality, this is not something new out there, as it has been available on Android devices for years. As the name implies, the feature allows you to quickly wake up your phone with a simple tap.
To enable the Tap to Wake feature on your iPhone X, head to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn on the switch for Tap to Wake.
