Huawei expects to ship 200 million smartphone units this year

Huawei is the world’s third-largest smartphone maker, shipping hundreds of millions of phone units every year. During the first three months of the year, the Chinese firm sold nearly 10 million smartphone units. Huawei was once best known for offering affordable phones with crazy specs. However, the company is not just about mid-range phones.

Huawei is now shifting its focus to premium smartphones. The Chinese firm has its own ground in the US and Europe. In March 2018, Huawei announced the P20 Pro after months of rumors and reports. The P20 Pro is a high-end smartphone that serves as a plan to take on Apple’s 2018 iPhone and Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

The P20 Pro receives a wide welcome, with praise directed at its three rear cameras and great performance. Tech experts say that Huawei will continue to record a strong sales performance in the coming months.

The Chinese firm recently said that it aims to ship 200 million smartphone units this year to surpass Apple on the market. Tech watchers claim that the Chinese firm will beat Apple within the next few years to become the second largest smartphone maker on the market. Huawei has shipped 100 million smartphone units so far.

Huawei-branded phones are widely welcome out there, thanks to their exciting features and affordable price tags. Mid-range phones like Honor 9 Lite or Honor 7X are among the best-selling phones on the market. Tech experts say that Huawei will sell millions of smartphone units during this year’s holiday shopping season. Last year, the Chinese firm shipped 10 million phone units on New Year’s Eve, helping the Chinese firm grab the third place on the market.

Tech experts say that Apple and Samsung will be facing an intense competition from Huawei. There is a good chance that Huawei will replace Apple to become the second largest smartphone maker on the market.

Huawei is expected to launch new smartphones this year. The new devices will belong to the mid-range segment and will launch to the public in China. However, new phones will launch globally in spring 2019.
