Apple iPhone turns 12 years old this year. A lot of things have changed since the first iPhone made its debut back in 2007. Apple iPhone is now bigger and smarter than before. Last year, Apple released three iPhones including iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR at its September event. The 2018 iPhone lineup is not a significant change over their predecessors, but they still feature something special that is worth your shot.
However, Apple is reporting slow iPhone sales on the market. Apple CEO Tim Cook recently stated that there is now a weak demand for iPhones out there. He claimed that there are fewer iPhone upgrades than the company hoped. In reality, Apple is struggling to sell its smartphones in China and India due to intense competition. In December 2018, sources said that Apple cut production orders for all three new iPhones due to low demand. Tech experts say that there is still a high demand for older iPhones out there, which forces Apple to speed up production of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Besides, the iPhone X remains one of the most popular iPhones out there.
According to the latest reports, Apple is planning to cut production for the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR by 10 percent in the first quarter of 2019. Sources say that iPhone sales performance failed to satisfy Apple in 2018, but Apple is expecting to boost its sales this year. Reports claim that Apple will be producing around 40-43 million iPhone units in Q1/2019, a slight drop when compared to our expected shipments of 48 million. Apple is trying to boost its iPhone sales in Greater China. Besides, Apple is dealing with iPhone sales ban in China after a patent dispute.
Apple and Qualcomm have been in a long-running dispute as the American chipmaker accused Apple of violating some of its patents. Qualcomm is seeking iPhone sales ban in China and Germany. Last month, Apple pulled the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 from its stores in Germany to deal with iPhone sales ban. Apple is expected to announce new iPhones in September this year. The new iPhone is rumored to come with tons of new things ranging new design to new security measure.
