Apple iPhone is pretty reliable when it comes to performance. However, that doesn’t mean that everything works perfectly day and night. A lot of iPhone owners have reported that their iPhone fails to ring when a new call comes in, causing them to miss important calls. There could be any reason for why your iPhone is not ringing, ranging from issues with your speaker to blocked phone number.

Before we begin, make sure you are now running the latest version of iOS. If you are not sure, head to Settings > General > Software Update and check for any available updates.
How to fix an iPhone that fails to ring
Make sure your speaker still works
Before trying to do anything, make sure your device’s speaker still works. There is a simple way to check if your speaker is working or not. You can launch the YouTube app on your device and play a video. If you can hear the audio clearly, then your speaker still works. After that, borrow someone’s phone and try calling you. If the problem still persists, make sure you read on.
Make sure you have disabled Mute on your device
If your iPhone is not ringing every time a new call comes in, there is a good chance that you have accidentally enabled Mute on your phone. To check if Mute is now enabled on your device, head to Settings > Sounds and make sure the switch for Ringer and Alerts is not turned off. If it is, move the slider to the right to enable sound on your device.
Turn off Do Not Disturb
Do Not Disturb has been around since the days of iOS 6, allowing iPhone owners to silence incoming calls and notifications when you are not actively using your phone. While this is a great feature, one major drawback is that you can miss some important calls.
If your iPhone fails to ring, make sure you have not enabled Do Not Disturb feature on your device. If you are not sure, follow the steps below to check for Do Not Disturb.
Step one: Launch the Settings app from your home screen and then hit Do Not Disturb
Step two: Once you are in, turn off the switch for Manual to disable Do Not Disturb.
Make sure you have not blocked the caller
If the problem still persists, ensure that the caller is not blocked on your device. Apple allows you to see the list of all blocked calls on your iPhone.
Step one: Launch the Settings app on your home screen and then hit Phone
Step two: Once you are in, hit Call Blocking & Identification. Locate the phone number you wish to unblock and tap Edit. After that, hit the red circle and select Unblock.
